Winning is a habit, Success is a choice
The Tracy Press covered the recent Rod Gaines varsity tournament. The team took sixth place of more than twenty schools even though Tracy was handicapped without a full lineup in the team race. Five medalists from Tracy include two freshmen, Anthony Nunes and Jason Matta. Both freshmen have prior wrestling experience in the Tracy wrestling club and are looking to solidify a permanent spot in the varsity lineup, an honor for freshmen.
The Tracy High wrestling team will begin league dual meet competition earlier this year. Typically the league season is prefaced by a holiday schedule to prepare for league meets. The TCAL has scheduled half the season prior to the holiday school break. First up will be Tracy traveling to Lodi to face Tokay High School on December 6th with varsity competition at 7pm with JV and girls matches earlier in the evening.

Congratulations to Tracy High School wrestling coach Zach Blackwell graduating from the SRTCJC (Police Academy). His class had the highest academic score in the state and third best score overall. After more than five months of rigorous training, he will be protecting the streets of a very lucky California town.
Tracy high wrestler Eli Blackwell as part of team California (Greco in junior division) traveled to Fargo, ND to compete with the nation’s best prep wrestlers in the country. His team captured third among all states.
The Stockton Record recognized area all stars from the Stockton, Lodi, Manteca, Lathrop, Tracy, and Mt House area. One of only two male wrestlers in the coverage area to qualify for the CIF state tournament in wrestling, Eli Blackwell, a sophomore from Tracy High was recognized as an “All Star Prep” with an awards night June 21, 2018.
If you plan on wrestling at Tracy High for the 2018-19 season, plan on attending as many summer practices as possible.

June: After the CA-USAW Greco tournament, enjoy your summer if you have not qualified for national competition. National competitors will continue training.
July: Every Wednesday and Friday except July 4th and the third week of July for nationals.
