Tracy High finished it’s pre-season varsity duals with a win over Manteca High School. In the end, the score was tied but based on criteria, came out with the win.
Leading up to the varsity dual, the JV squad short on participants, would lose to Manteca. Included in the JV dual was an exhibition match between the lone girl from Manteca vs Tracy High’s Nikki Gallegos.

The Bay Area 55 again proved to be a good opening tournament for the official start of the CIF boys varsity season. With a partial team in attendance, the Tracy Bulldogs tied for 15th with Freedom High School among 37 high school teams with 65 points.
Those contributing to the team score was Kyle Silveira (1-2) with 3 team points, Riley Revino (3-2) with 10 team points, Brock McCarty with 24 team points and Eli Blackwell with 28 team points.
Other wrestlers who competed include Octavio Torres who lost his first match by decision and his second match in overtime in a very challenging match. Anthony Gougousis, returning from illness lost both of his matches. Orlando Rivero also lost both of his matches.

These finalists may have been bruised and bloodied, but they were all smiles once they claimed their medals.
In the JV Boys dual meet vs Bear Creek, Tracy forfeited at 12 weights and had two wrestlers available for competition. Alex Gougousis at 126 pounds and Nicholas Bronson at 182 pounds. There were double forfeits at the following weights: 106, 113, 120, 132, and 195 where neither school scored. Tracy lost forfeit points to Bear Creek at 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 220, and 285. Alex Gougousis had a forfeit win at 126 pounds and Christopher Bronson had a fall at 182. The final JV team score was Bear Creek 42, Tracy 12.
In the girls varsity dual meet vs Bear Creek, the lone Tracy wrestler, Nikki Gallegos was pinned. The final score was Bear Creek 84, Tracy 0.
In the boys varsity dual meet vs Bear Creek, Tracy did not have wrestlers to compete at 106, 113, 160, and 182. Bear Creek did not have wrestlers at 126 and 132. There were no double forfeits. Actual matches consisted of Jonathon Uhl losing a decision 5-1 at 120 pounds, Andrew Manibusan getting the fall at 138 pounds, Octavio Torres getting pinned at 145 pounds, Sammo Blackwell losing a decision 8-3 at 152 pounds, Kyle Silveira getting pinned at 170 pounds, Orlando Rivero losing a decision 3-1 at 195 pounds, Brock McCarty losing a decision 1-0 at 220 pounds, Angle Romo getting pinned at 285 pounds. Eli Blackwell and Riley Revino both took wins by forfeit. The final score was Tracy 18, Bear Creek 54.
